I think they go back further than that. There were plenty of them around 
Shepherds Bush Green in the '70s. There are huge flocks of them around 
Teddington and Bushey Park.

Perhaps they appeared in a ''prequel''  :-))
  Incidentally, Sunday morning in Islip Manor Park near the A40, about 6 of 
them having a squawk-in in the tree-tops!
