Funny how these things work out, isn't it? I got a call this evening from a
distant relative researching my great grandfather who was one of the BEF and
killed in the 1st WW. She's been doing a family history and it seems my
ancestor John Hoden (b 1767) was one of the earliest boatmen. Another
relative, William Hoden (b 1836) was the ferryman at Sawley. Blimey! We
haven't come very far, have we?

Anyone done this sort of work before and know where I can follow up these
people?

Steve
