Thanks for that Allan, even though it's unwelcome news.

Yup, not knowing that I gave him a call this morning thinking he would
be on the spot. He explained he was with Roger and Margaret just about
to set off for a day's cruising.

That depends on whether I can get there! I've never made it to
Stratford on Raven. The last attempt resulted in getting stuck in the
mud mid channel on Wooten Wawne aqueduct. Had to be pulled back into
deeper water by a fit young chap doing a bit of towpath running. I was
unable to jump to the towpath myself being mid channel. Previously I
had to be pulled through bridge 51 by an oncoming boater. He didn't
have much option about giving a tow as neither he nor I were going
anywhere. The same thing happened at bridge 51 on the return journey.
Assuming I make it to Stratford there remains the problem of the Avon
water levels. Then the Severn levels, of which I hope to hear more from
one of our correspondents.
If things go smoothly then I should be on the G & S around the 2nd. No
doubt we will be in telephonic communication if I make it that far to
arrange for the partaking of some liquid refreshments.
Regards,
Dave
