I don't think I'm the only person who wouldn't be
keen on finding wide boats on the summit between
Foxton and Watford.
There are the tunnels, for example, which would
have to be closed to traffic in one direction
while a wide boat transited in the other.
And additionally I don't think I'm wrong in saying
that there are many places where it is difficult
for two narrow boats to pass each other. Passing
a wide boat would be a nightmare.
