After a wait in a queue of cars to get into the car park area,
we drove in and were directed to drive across 30 feet of muddy
furrows.  This we did, with much slipping and sliding, but
managed to spatter all side and the roof of our hire car with
mud.  Very stylish.

Carefully stepping across the field, we paid the admission fee
and quickly found Sue Burchett, as the BITM tent was immediately
adjacent to the entrance.  (We had met Sue yesterday at the
Basingstoke Rally.)  Sue graciously accompanied us must of the
afternoon, helping us find George Eycott (busily working on
something beneath a low canopy next to his hired generator),
and Terry Streeter (one of three gents in monks robes
simulating a slot machine - I failed to win anything, as the
items the monks pulled from their pockets failed to match each
other.  I did see a couple of wins - the prize dropped out from
the bottom of Terry's robe.  This led to the question of what
monks wear under their robes, and Terry replied "You don't want
to know".)

Terry later appeared as a bass drummer in a band of a dozen or
so.  Except for a whistle pipe, all the instruments were variations
on drums or tambourines, and the sound must be heard to be believed.

Sue then set out with us to find Debbi and Simon on nb Tiami.  She
had asked a couple of people how to locate a particular boat when
Debbi and Simon discovered us standing right next to them.  Bit of
luck there, as their boat was moored 3/4 mile away.  After a nice
chat, we let them go back to their boat for a nice rest.  (Apparently
a lot goes on late at night at these festivals.)

Met up with George Eycott again, and he sent us off to the KESCRG
booth for onion bahgri (sp?), dahl, and some deep fried unspellables.
Quite good.

Sue looked for Terry again, since we hoped to find him without monks
or band, but he was not in his usual hiding place (the bar tent).
Adele and I walked the moorings and did find nb Arun, but it was
padlocked from the outside so the man was not aboard.

About this time, the festival was shutting down for the day, so we
bid farewell to Sue and departed.  Not as much mud problem on the
way out though.  (Did stop on the way to our hotel for a car wash.)

Our hotel is SE of Coventry, and at the agreement of Debbi, Simon, and
Sue we went north from the festival, paralleling the GU, to join the
A5.  Nice peeks of canals now and then.  I hadn't studied the map
closely enough so was surprised to arrive in Braunston on the A45.
We stopped for a look round.

That's it.  Need to sleep before tackling the Crick show tomorrow.
