Andrew & Wendy from The Cut - KB and holding.
We pay more because the tax is higher. Our lory drivers don't riot in
the streets like French lorry drivers.
It also means they can compete with our transport firms which pay a much
higher rate of duty on diesel.
Don't foirget as well that red diesel has excise duty (at a lower rate
than road diesel) on it so is not tax free.
Also VAT.
Gordon sneaked through a rise in his latest budget as yet another
stealth tax.
