Day 1 - Saturday July 1st - Marsworth to Ivinghoe Locks
2 miles 6 furlongs, 6 locks, 2 hours 20 minutes

Not much boating today, had to go up to London in the morning, and the
Samba band had a gig in Waford in the afternoon. Got back to the boat at
5.15pm. Set off at 5.45pm and found that the first of the Marsworth pair
was full with a gate open. Perfect. Passed a boat in the short pound
between them, so that was two locks set ready. Seabrook top was full,
but the gap between the gates was only about 3ft, so not quite so good.
The middle lock needed a bit of topping up, but when I was in and about
to empty the lock, someone from the boat moored below the lock appeared
and asked if I was going through the next one. They said they'd wait in
the lock for me, which they duly did. I was planning to stop sometime
around now for a BBQ, but didn't see anywhere suitable before I got to
Ivinghoe top. Went through that after annoying the chaps fishing from
between the two lock mooring bollards. Tied up halfway between the two
Ivinghoe locks at 8.05pm. It probably wasn't the best idea to moor in
such a short pound, as after a boat had gone past in the other direction
the boat was comprehensively aground and leaning at a most inconvenient
angle. Fortunately, the little cruiser went back again sometime after
10pm, and Arun was restored to a more even keel.

Weather - Sunny.
Forecast - Sunny.
