Date - 6 July Day - Thursday Start - Brinklow End - Braunston We woke at about 6 30 to heavy rain and I got up to close the side doors.Later it turned to a thunder storm. We set off about 10 still in heavy rain. The tunnel light at Newbold were not on as we passed through and the rain didn't stop until we reached Hillmorton where we stopped for lunch. After lunch we made our way up the flight, the first lock was with us but the second pair were both against us so we waited for a boat that had just entered the top lock. There was no sign of life on Bletchely and Argus so I was unable to top up with diesel from them. We passed the butty Draco that had a sign in the hold saying coal business for sale. We carried on to Braunston where we have moored for the night opposite the Mill House pub in glorious sunshine. -- Brian <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
