Dear all,

Long time Debbi no post but here's a useful little update. As we're
currently in the dry dock at Bulbourne we thought we'd check out the
recently refurbished Grand Junction Arms on Sunday. I ordered
the "GJ Burger" which promised on the menu to be a home made steak
burger with all the trimmings, served with chips and home made
coleslaw. Simon ordered the home-made steak and ale pie with veg and
chips.

My burger was anything but homemade and certainly not steak mince.
Served minus onions with two anaemic slices of tomato, a limp bit of
salad and coleslaw that looked like it had been made by a 3 year
old. Simon's pie didn't appear to be home made either and had been
nuked to death along with the vegetables. The brocolli was virtually
yellow brown goo.

To add insult to injury, the burger cost £7.45!!!! In fact there's
nothing on the menu cheaper than £7 and most of it is £7.95. Better
value and much better food by walking along the reservoirs to the
Anglers Retreat at Marsworth.

Still, at least the beer was good drinking :-)
