We tend to fall between both your stools, and that's an unpleasant thought,
isn't it?

In the summer, if we're cruising with any intention of getting anywhere,
we'll often rise very early, before dawn, stop at midday and walk or siesta
through the afternoon before making a second start after an early evening
meal. Sometimes we've been known to moor up only for last orders. Sometimes
in the dog days we've not moored up at all and cruised through the night
when the moon is full and the countryside often very busy with harvesting.

Sunrise and sunset are the two most enchanting periods of the day on a
canal.

However, I don't think we've ever disturbed anyone at either end. Or at
least we've never had any complaints, be they angry voices or even twitching
curtains with grumpy faces behind.

Steve

(who'll be back on the Shroppie at Norbury again before the end of the week,
the trip from Barbridge having so far taken more than three weeks already!)
