I'll concede that 5 deg C is approaching freezing ! I'd still reckon 
the trip will be substantially within the temperature range I stated 
but I wasn't starting a weather debate, just giving some remarks to the 
enquirer. Also Octobers have been changing haven't they, to the new 
style globally warmed version, previously known as September.  And if 
we 're touching on extremes, didn't we have hurricanes in October some 
years back ?
