I know I'm late on this thread. I've been boating. (Bugbrooke to Godalming via Brentford)
We use Carasept http://www.carapak.co.uk/siteproductdetail.asp?ProductID=1 We have a Mansfield drop through to a holding tank, with leaky seals. It used to whiff something awful when we used blue. Now it's relatively odour free, and seems to break down to a more easily pumpable out liquid too. It's actually sold for caravan toilets so should work with other boat loos too. It took a couple of tank fulls to make a smelly transition from blue, but well worth it. My guess is that anything sold as bio treatment for septic tanks will do exactly the same, but carasept works for us and is quite reasonable. And if anything I would say it doesn't work quite so well when it's cold, but that's not to say it doesn't work in the winter. -- Nigel Stanley Yahoo!
