Date - 17 Aug 06 Day - Thursday Start - 1020 Kelmscott End - 1520 We had an enjoyable evening in the Plough Inn at Kelmscott last night with Ann and Olly, when we arrived the restaurant was almost empty but it filled quite rapidly and this was reflected it the speed of service that some people experienced. We didn't find it a problem as we were happy to have a couple of pints in the bar before going through to eat, but if we had have taken our table when first offered I think we may have been a bit impatient by the time the food arrived, however it was well worth waiting for. After a walk into the village this morning we set off at about twenty past ten heading downstream, we hadn't been going long when it started to rain which got quite hard for a short time. When we arrived at Radcot we stopped at the GIG site to have a chat and coffee with the early arrivals before heading off to fill with water at Shifford Lock, we then turned round and headed back upstream about half a mile to moor just in front of "Pilgrim" on the offside in bright sunshine. After we had partaking of a drink and chat with Barbara and Malcolm sitting out on the bank in glorious sun we ate onboard.
