We were the victims of an opportunist theft from our mooring this
afternoon. Fortunately all they stole were 3 bottles of beer and a
can of Guiness as they were interupted when one of the business unit
tenants questioned what they were doing. From what we could discern
they had looked in our shed (but not removed anything) and used our
hose and waterpoint.

Anyone who has ever passed and recognised us on our mooring will
agree that it doesn't look like a public water point by any stretch
of the imagination with it's garden, washing lines, shed and fencing.

Sadly the person who interupted them couldn't remember the name of
the boat but here's the description.

Blue narrowboat, average length, sounds like a cruiser stern as had
moped on the back. No proper tiller pin on the tiller. Two men, one
older and fatter wearing a white T-shirt, one much younger "looking
like a tramp" called Len.

They are heading south on the GU. We're moored on the offside in
Berkhamsted between Lock 55 and Bridge 143. Simon's gone hunting for
them (probably to give them a thump).

If you see them ... perhaps you could give them a lesson in cut
morals and behaviour.

Will report to BW and local plod (as this comes on the back of local
vandals breaking windows and pulling out mooring pins on the Moor by
Broadwater lock a couple of weeks ago).

In over seven years here we've never really had any problems before,
especially not from other "boaters".

Yours, very hacked off.
