I assume this was at the Plough???? if so we had ame problem 28/29 Aug.
Moored at the Plough 1130 28 Aug, had a couple of pints, went to Pendon
Railway Museum before having another pint at thePlough.
Village Church Fete taking place in pub garden. Got lots of books cheap.
Ate in the pub in the evening before going back to boat at 2030, not listing
at this time but ropes fairly tight, loosened them off a bit.
Sue got up at 0300 and woke me as we had quite a list on. Slackened off the
ropes and got boat pole out to push boat out - no such luck as we were solid
aground along the full length of boat.
Arose at 0715 and tried again to pole off. Had to wait until 0900 to get
hold of lockie at Clifton Lock, who acknowledged they had a small water
level problem - in our view it had gone down about 12 inches and my counter
wat well out of water. By 1130 the water level was rising and was just
starting to touch the counter but we could not pole the stern out. One of
the show boats from Calcutt offered to pull us off and with a little effort
we started to move. My engine was on so I put power to the prop and we
slowly slid back inot water and were on our way. Next stop to take part in
the opening of Wilts and Berks at Abingdon.
