Generally the amount of level change under "normal" summer levels doesn't 
really make any difference, and in this case it was only because the boat 
was aground to start with. Normally using long lines with some stretch will 
allow some up and down movement while keeping the boat in place, and this is 
how we moor on our home mooring on the River Hull. It helps that the mooring 
posts are high up on the bank as well.

Actually they turned out OK, but it would have been nice to have a greeting 
first before telling us!!
