I saw a notice at Napton last week, saying that due to the blue-green algae
in the Tring reservoirs, the stretch of canal between Marsworth and Dudswell
was subject to lock restrictions. AFAIK the locks are open from 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. only.

The GU seemed a bit quiet last week (there were moorings aplenty available
at the bottom of Napton, for example, and loads of space at Stoke Bruerne,
which is unheard of). As one boater we passed in the Buckby flight put it:
"Where *is* everybody?"

Dave
[but of course there was one hireboat moored in the
winding hole at Napton]
