Having experienced the near hypothermia of my wife in a hire boat at Easter
when all of the midlands was flooded and keeping the heating on all night
against advice re ventilation (we did have the windows open). Mooring pins
torn out of made up banks. Boat yard replaced bottle.
Boating in driving snow and the people in the moored boats thinking we are a
novelty. Very slippery Stourbridge 16. Do the gates swing open on purpose ?
We now know that contrary to advice by the hire boat yard you crack a paddle
(against BW advice too) and let it hold em shut !
the boys through holes critics might take note how naughty the cracking of
paddles appears to be or even the leaving of gates open! shock horror.
My kids wont boat with me any more! They want to go on an arctic expedition
first.
