You will get *some* drop in steam pressure when injecting water but not
much. That's the whole reason the bl**dy awkward incalcitrant devils own
device was invented in the first place!
If you want to reduce the boiler pressure by adding water, using the
feedpump to add cold water works much more effectively

In either case. That's why injecting or pumping water to reduce pressure
is bad practice. A good driver will not get himself into that situation
in the first place!
