Indeed!
In the old days with the proper handle on the manual bottom guillotine we 
(two blokes on the handle) emptied one in under a minute.
There was a reason for this - the tidal wave that was let out of the lock 
sorted out the abusive anglers fishing from the lock landing stage  ;-)
I can't say we have down a Nene lock at *quite* this speed with a boat in...
