A boat was broken into at Leamington Spa, close to Bridge 40 at approx 1300
on Tuesday 26 September.
We arrived just after and the owner of the boat we were travelling with
actually saw the miscreant leaving the boat.
Police arrived very promptly and took statements from our friends. The boat
owners, from New Zealand, arrived just before the police arrived after doing
their shopping. Many drawers and cupboards were open and some items strewn
on the floor. As far as we are aware the only things of significence missing
was their passports.
Later on a Community Police Officer arrived and asked if we were OK and what
our intentions were and recommended we didnot moor there overnight as they
have had some problems with local youths, but not boat related problems.
We left and moored at the bottom of Hatton, which was always our intention.
