These days people dont offer help they just stand there with their windlass
on the bottom paddle glaring at you because you are taking so long about it
which just makes me take longer.

Nothing to do with being a barge I left gates open when I had a narrowboat.
having said that I do shut gates when local notices say so and when the lock
is leaking.

Adrian rarely ventures off rivers so you should be safe from him.
