Today it has been raining on and off but hard. The river at 5.30pm tonight 
was OK and I saw a boat moving north, so it is open. I think you are quite 
correct in your assessment in that upstream towards SOA and up the canal is 
a much better route that downstream and going anywhere near the Severn.

I might be able to find a member of crew to help short term.
