Not had that problem so far in Belgium.

Not done that yet but I have shimmied under a few lift bridges at locks on 
the Sambre ;-)

I'd expect that after what you have managed to achieve with your narrow boat 
in the UK, that the canals and rivers of Europe will be a doodle for you.
