I guess the reason is because regardless of what happens over the long term
as far as corporate restructuring, in the short term if the government
refuse to reverse the cuts, which sadly IMO, is the most likely outcome of
all this, BW will make appropriate cuts and we'll be left living with the
consequences.
It's the medium term that interests me. Working with BW against the cuts is
all well and good. But what happens where their view of the allocation of
scarce resources differs from ours?
Already they've been trying to make money by getting rid of Castle Mill, and
save money by cutting facilities on the G&S. Wonder what we'll do when they
close the Rochdale? Or up licence fees? Charge for the Standedge again?
Bring in CC licences?
Will we still be blaming the government then?
