Thanks Ian, Andy and Bungle, you've confirmed what I hoped you would
say ie that it will work but at redeuced speed. As I am only using the
laptop as a temporary measure until I get around to buying a new PC I
will get the USB 2.0 device in anticipation of buying the new PC
equipped with 2.0 also.
