I notice that my local MP does not appear to have put his name to EDM 2757,
although the Rother Valley Constituency website has a photograph of the newly
(well two years ago) reopened Turnerwood basin and the following accompanying
comment:
Quote ....
Hamlet of Turnerwood
The Chesterfield Canal, built in the 1760’s, was partially restored in the
1990’s and is currently undergoing major archaelogical renovations to restore
it to its original glory.

(for pedants like myself the spelling mistake (arch......al) is on the
website, it's not mine)
I have written to him pointing out that such gems of the waterways as the
Chesterfield canal from Worksop to Kiveton with its numerous listed structures
and delightful walks and vistas are at particular risk.
I await Kevin Barron's response.
