We (ie on Sanity) were just coming to the conclusion that the uric acid
explanation was more likely all told, especially as we've not seen
massive amounts of scale in the kettle, on the shower head and so on.
With the water feed to the loo choked back to the minimum to achieve an
adequate bowl clearance (so as to increase the inter pump out
interval), there is probably a similar situation to the gents urinal in
the macerator. Probably the fact that some of us take calcium carbonate
supplement as a prophylaxis for osteoporosis doesn't help...
What we need is a trial with some of the scale and the various
compounds proposed as treatments.
