Not so.  There were a couple of broad boats (one a nice little antique
barge), and a very photogenic coracle!

However, there were no (I think) cruisers, or even canoes.  There are
lots of both based on the Lee.  Didn't the IWA branch, which organised
the Ware event, invite the cruising several clubs on the river to
participate?  If ever there were a time for those with *all* types of
inland boat to work together, this must be it.  If the issue is seen
as just a "narrow boat thing", the campaign will be much weakened.

However, the Ware event did indeed attract good support, and much
attention and positive comment from the town people.  Good thing there
was a pub overlooking the river at Ware town bridge, though, where it
was possible to, er, shelter from the rain.  Water shortage - what
water shortage?
