Bob's already suggested CTC for the cyclists, but I'd also recommend contacting Sustrans in Bristol. They have a lot to lose from cutbacks in towpath maintenance and upgrades. They are also non-governmental so are free to criticise DEFRA. In my experience (and I realise I'll get flayed alive for this) they are also a really helpful, clued-up bunch of people. Sure, there's the odd bad apple who probably recommends converting the Llangollen towpath to a 5m-wide concrete cycleway or something, but the same could be said of most organisations... not least BW. Sadly it's a couple of years since I've worked with them and I believe my main contact is no longer there. Ramblers' Association (aka The Ramblers) is the obvious organisation for walking. Also worth badgering the specialist press - Country Walking (published by EMAP) and Cycling Plus (published by Future) are the two magazines that spring to mind. cheers Richard
