Our 9 month old domestic batteries are showing signs of being completly wrecked.
They have been on trickle charge for the last week and were showing about 14.6V under charge. This dropped to 12.6 off charge but a 7Aoad dropped then to 11.7 ish in 3 minutes. This indictes that our 400Ah batteries have lost all but about 1 Ahr of capacity. Is this credible or should I be looking for another explaination. We suspect they havent been fully charged for a while as our alternator had a fault. Would one deep discharge event (which may or may not have happened) cause such a catastophic loss of capacity ? O r should I be looking for somthing else ? wiring perhaps. If they have been damaged by a deep dishcharge is there any way of reviving them ? or is that £400 down the drain ? Any ideas gartefully recieved Merry Christmas all Terry Rigden NB NOVOLES
