[canals-list] Correct fitting of anodes?

Hi everyone
we're out of the water for blacking etc and I've just returned to find 
new anodes fitted, welded on so they are an inch plus away from the 
wall of the hull.  Will they do the job like this?  The hull is in 
great condition and I 'd hate incorrectly fitted anodes to change that, 
the boatyard tells me they're OK but anyone prepared to offer a second 
opinion??
