While wanting to get more from us to drive (while saying they are not) I understand (see < www.SwitchOfftheEU > ) that our roads minister is powerless to stop the EU telling them to pass a law ordering us to all drive round with our car-lights on at all times. Given this and the fact that EU are now passing generalised laws for boats one wonders if their next step will be to tell us to drive round with our headlights on too!
