snip : A curiosity: all boats had been set free by pulling out the : pins and laying them, very carefully, on the boats. The only : thing we could figure out was that this was done so that the : roped pins wouldn't bang against the boats and wake us up too : early (we only woke up because another boat hit us). : : If that analysis is true, it suggests that the culprits had : done it all before. : We have only been set adrift once and that was on the Runcorn Arm by the pub. I came as a bit of a surprise as we didn't return to the boat until the pub closed and then my daughters in-laws came onboard for a coffee so we were quite late to bed. When I told someone the next day they suggested it was the local fishermen out at daybreak as they would rather not have boats up there. Whether this was correct or not I don't know. -- Brian Ancient Order of Sewer Ants Visit this site and help save our waterways http://www.savethewaterways.org.uk/
