Our boat (snb emilyanne) is 58ft long, and all other dimentions are 
also designed to "go anywhere on the system" which she just about 
has. Bar the hudderfield/rochdale, which we are going to do this year.
 - And if i had to make the desision again, i'd do the same. Even 
with the engineroom and coal taking up 14ft of that.

However, theres still no reason why you shouldnt have a 70ft'er.

What i personally would suggest, would be that you purchase a 
nicholsons os "Inlandwaterways map of greatbritain" for a fiver, and 
got though it and highlight all the 70+ft canals. And see what you 
think about that for a terratory.
