A shiny magazine editor (woken up by Sue's posting) writes: 70ft is good. If you're not going to cruise the Yorkshire waterways; you're happy that you can handle the boat at that length (sure, a 71ft 6in GU can handle better than a steel boat half the length, but I presume you're not going for a working boat conversion); and you can get a mooring long enough... then there's no reason not to choose 70ft. If I could persuade more people to choose the size that's right for them, rather than flocking, sheep-like, to 58ft/60ft, I'd be a very happy (and shiny) editor. cheers Richard
