We now know what the boat looks like, and have a last sighting for it. It would take anyone familiar with the canals about half a day maximum to find the damn thing and apprehend the thief. If I was the police I'd do it now before he logs onto his computer and finds out how just far the investigation is closing in on him and does a runner.
