Following the discovery of a large World War II bomb at a site off 
Palmers Road in Bethnal Green, east London, last night (Monday 14 
May), a cordon is in place which includes sections of the Regent's 
Canal and Hertford Union.  The following locks are closed until 
further notice: Mile End, Hertford Union (top lock) and Old Ford Lock 
(Regent's Canal).
