If anyone is interested the ASA have just told me that any supplier can 
tell lies in adverts as long as they (the ASA) think this will 
not "mislead customers to their detriment".

They actually admit the advert is untrue, but say it is OK.

Have a look at the recent Safeshore Marine add in June 07 WWW Page 136 
and see if you think that telling users of DC only boat and those with 
isolation transformers that they need a galvanic isolator is likely to 
mislead the less technically aware.

They also decided that the possible effects of interference suppression 
making the device useless was not relevant.

I have done my best - how about a few of you having ago if you agree 
with my view that the add needs modifying.
