Other pictures show the bed of the canal laid in concrete with masses of
reinforcing rods /shuttering emerging from the edge. One picture shows work
at a more complete stage, with the cuvert completely built inside the
trench, but with no backfill work completed so that there's a gap of 3-4
feet wide between the concrete edge and the embankment. One - not very good
- is of the dewatered aqueduct. Interesting stuff.
