We reached Parkend at 7pm. Water level about 9 inches below normal. Water colour BW standard brownish and murky instead of the usual dark blue/green. Bit of a pong of dirty, overfed, goldfish tank.
Apparently level has been 2 ft lower than this and a bank bursting 2 ft higher at times in the last week as a result of BW level management. Low lying property nearby including the lower part of the ex-bridgekeeper's house have been badly damaged. Uncle Mort "herself" is totally unflustered and the ropes seem pretty much as I "tied" them 2 weeks back - all manner of beeky-hitches and staffy-turns. The power seems to have been off for a while so our G&Ts were served on arrival with only half formed ice cubes and the tonic had gone flat.
