Always good advice; one should use due care when quoting others. But of
course many of us have made that error at some point. By all means, anyone
who has been misquoted should disavow the faulty quote. But I think we
shouldn't be too quick to pounce on the misquoter, lest we scare off others
from posting. Don't want to give the impression that the canals-list is a
dangerous place!
