The moderation of the first posts of new subscribers has got some
publicity lately, so I thought I should post about how one can
avoid becoming a new subscriber after being gone on holiday.
Many people who need to stop their email while on holiday
"unsubscribe", but whe they resubscribe on their return, they
become a "new subscriber" and thus their first new posting would
be subject to delays (while Bob and I fiddle around with whatever
it is we do when we're not list-managing).

The better method to stop email while on holiday is to go "no-mail".
It's no more work than unsubscribing and re-subscribing - the only
difference is the addresses you send your change messages to. Here's
how to do it:

If you want to go 'no-mail' for a holiday period, send a blank email, from
your subscription address, to:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

To restore email delivery upon your return, send a blank email, from your
subscription address, to EITHER:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

to restore delivery of individual messages as they are posted,

OR

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

to restore delivery of the digest.

Subscribers who are also registered directly with YahooGroups (i.e.
subscribers who have a login on the YahooGroups site), can use the
YahooGroups web site to set and restore "no-mail".
