On the Monty, having given money for certain stages they (AWM) withdrew from funding further restoration as they did not see it being worth it (and an election was due it is alleged).
(My comment) I would have thought Adrian would have approved of AWM making commercial decisions on where to invest! However what may also have been happening is:- As the SVR was already running, businesses dependent on it would make less profit and therefore would have paid less tax. As the Mont is not yet running, the businesses which would be dependent on it do not yet exist. However this logic implies never investing to expand! Sean
