Colin, you are absolutely right: I am being personal. This is personally aimed at Adrian. I agree with you that anyone on this list has a right to express their views in any posting. What they do not have the right to do, however, is to provoke respectable people beyond the point of endurance by displaying unspeakable levels of insensitivity towards their suffering. You and I have crossed swords often enough for you to know that it not simply my disagreement with Adrian's politics which is making me act as I am. Frankly, I consider Adrian to be a disruptive influence on this list, and I am not alone in thinking so. Sadly, there is evidence he is driving people away from the list. You or I - were we to have realised that we had said something considered by so many people to be outrageous and unacceptable - would have done the honorable thing and retired from the list for at least a decent period, if not completely. Instead, Adrian continues to engage with us as if nothing had happened. I find this offensive, and find that being offensive in return is my only recourse.
