From a recent stoppage notice about L38, Hatton:
> Due to Health & Safety issues an emergency stoppage is required at Lock
> 38 to enable British Waterways to carry out essential engineering
> repairs
> to rising boards at the above location.
Anyone tell me what are "rising boards" ? The stoppage is for the
morning of 14 September, btw.
