(snip David's and Will's accounts of idiot boaters) It all sounds too competitive - I think, other than where *my* crew had prepared the lock for *my* boat - I should have just pulled over and let the stupid gits get on with it. Whatever happened to the peace and quiet of the waterways? I have not come across people who behave in the way described in Will's and David's posts, nor people who try to steal others' locks, but they would not be worth bothering with and they are the losers anyway. We go boating to have a pleasant, relaxed time, not to get into confrontations with morons. Dorothy
