No, knob men (and women) are the ones whose hand hovers over that speed knob, 
sometimes caressing it gently, as they pass moored boats in the country or on 
short term moorings at what they call slow. Often they can't stand it and grab 
their knob to make the boat go faster before they are past. (Our record for one 
that slowed - rather than one that didn't, was about 10' before the knob went 
down - we thanked him for slowing and he cursed us.)
   
   We have lots of different boating types - Knob men, pop up people, pub 
dashers and lots more.
