Brilliant bit of superimposing that David. According to Russell's East of England - the Thorney River Navigation was not abandoned until 1937, when the DinD was built. The Thorney River was also considered as one of the possible outfalls onto the Nene of the Fens Waterways Link - but a route nearer Peterborough was considered more suitable.
