Not sure if I've seen mention of this here but in case people are on the
move and hadn't heard, there is an emergency stoppage at Yard Lock in
Stone. Waterscape says the following:

---
Stoppage: Yard Lock, Stone
Associated Regional Office: BW Wales & Borders

UPDATE 19 December 2007: Investigations undertaken on 18 December have
revealed substantial repairs required to the lock chamber which cannot
take place until after Christmas. Therefore the lock must remain closed
over the Christmas period and until further notice.

British Waterways apologise for the inconvenience, we will provide a
more detailed update when the repair plan is available.

The navigation is closed at Yard Lock, Stone, due to an investigation of
chamber failure. Winding is available below Lock 27, Star Lock, and
above Bridge 96a. The towpath remains open.

There were planks in today when I went for a look. I'd heard on the
grapevine earlier that it was a culvert that had collapsed but with the
lock being full it was impossible to tell anything at all.
